Overview

The purpose of these Faculty Development sessions is to improve the lecturing of academic staff who must lecture in English. Participants will gain confidence in presenting lectures in English. Japanese lecturers who must teach in the G30 Program or to international students are particularly welcome.

Before coming to the first session, participants will be asked to prepare a short 10 minute mini-lecture on any topic in their field or any other area. The target audience is Year 1 or Year 2 undergraduate students. Preparing a mini-lecture is optional.

Program

Day 1:
- Introductory Lecture with English Tips
- Micro-lecture by participants (10 min each), feedback discussion
Day 2:
- Micro-lecture by participants (10 min each), feedback discussion
- Closing Lecture

※Instructor will provide guidelines for micro-lecturing beforehand.
  Participants should prepare your presentation before the first session.
